GCSA Second Annual Conference on Friday March 18th!

The Geography and City Studies Students Association (GCSA) are hosting their second annual conference on Friday, March 17 from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. The theme of the conference is “We are all City Builders” and aims to show us how we can be active participants in city processes, community, and development. If you want to know how you can create change in your city, not just through planning, but through avenues of consultation, community engagement, and policy change, then please join us!

We have two amazing keynote speakers who will be joining us;

George Dark, a partner and landscape architect at Urban Strategies Inc. He’s also the Chair of Evergreen Toronto and has 3 decades of experience working on urban regeneration projects, community plans, and policy generation.

Rachel Lissner, the creator, and administrator for the Young Urbanist League, actively engaged with over 3000 members of Toronto’s community. You will also be able to attend a workshop that teaches real world skills for working with the city such as consultation and grant writing.

Tickets are only $5, you can buy tickets by emailing us, Facebook messaging us or messaging a GCSA member, limited tickets are available so make sure you buy your ticket as soon as possible!

Informal Convo Feb 9th

There will be an informal conversation on Feb 9th. This will serve as a safe space for conversation and listening, rather than political discussion, of the recent events in the US and Canada. Do come out if you are interested!16299155_1872719316292248_691112995849261082_n
