The Geography and City Studies Student Association will be holding their first ever conference at UTSC on Friday March 4th, 2016. Presented through the inspiration of Jane Jacobs, celebrating what would have been her 100th birthday year the conference will include keynote speakers, network opportunities, prizes and workshops by well-known city builders and change makers from Toronto. Along with the aforementioned there shall be an art exhibition surrounding the theme of this year’s conference “A City For Everyone”. We are currently accepting submissions of works that represent whatever the idea of a city means to you. All mediums are accepted. We are accepting submissions from artists, allowing them to interpret and visualize their relationship to the city in any way they wish. Selected works will be displayed for the day on Friday March 4th at the GCSA Conference being held in UTSC’s state of the art new, Environmental Science building.

Please download and complete the submission form below. Include it and high-res photos of your works and email all material to gcsa.utoronto@gmail.com with the subject” EXHIBITION SUBMISSION” no later than February 27th, 2016. Selected artists will be contacted with follow up information. Good luck!

GCSA Conference on Friday March 4th!

Are you interested in becoming a future city builder and change maker? We’ve got the perfect event for you to attend as we are hosting our first ever GCSA Conference!
The conference will be held on Friday March 4th, 2016 from 9am – 5pm and presented through the inspiration of Jane Jacobs, celebrating what would have been her 100th birthday year. The conference will include keynote speakers, an art exhibition, network opportunities, prizes and workshops by well-known city builders and change makers from Toronto.
Tickets for the conference are $10, so stay tuned for more details on the speakers, the workshops and the rest of the conference!
How to buy tickets:
1. Speak to a GCSA Class Representative – Throughout the next few weeks we will be making announcements in classes at UTSC. You can buy a ticket directly from the representative making the announcement!
2. Visit us at our table to buy tickets! We will be tabling throughout the next few weeks on campus. Look out for the dates and times which will be released soon.
3. Email us, FB message us, or tweet at us! We will do whatever we can to ensure you get a ticket.
Limited tickets are available so ensure to buy your ticket as soon as possible!
